Whole-Wheat Caramel Chocolate Brownies

Whole Wheat Caramel Chocolate brownies

This is the perfect recipe to start with if you’re using your WonderMill for the very first time! It makes a large batch of moist, sweet brownies and best of all, the whole-wheat flour means they’re quite filling (which helps control your desire for more, they last longer and you get to spend less time in the kitchen!).

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 2 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 cups freshly ground, whole wheat flour
  • Optional: 3/4 cup chopped walnuts

Caramel Frosting:

  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 8 Tbsp milk

7. Stir in brown sugar and milk and bring to a boil.

8. Cool just until warm and beat in confectioner’s sugar until the icing achieves spreading consistency  Spread over brownies.

Grain Mill Wagon Experience: As an enthusiastic newbie to grinding my own grain, I envisioned a mill that was easy, quick, quite, and powerful The WonderMill proved to be all that and more, and I have no intention of ever buying or using another mill within my lifetime! I've successfully ground several types of grain with the Wondermill and the resulting flour has worked perfectly in each recipe I've tried I look forward to many more years of grinding our own whole-grain, non-GMO flour with the WonderMill to feed our growing family.
