My dogs love their treats. Most dogs do, right? Buying them at the store is nearly impossible when you’re trying to avoid anything that’s not made in the U.S. so I came up with my own recipe for treats and the dogs LOVE them. Our four dogs can’t get enough of them and will even steal them from each other when the other isn’t looking.
Not only are these apparently tasty (and even smell nice while they’re cooking!) but they’re incredibly easy. It’s mostly like making a cookie for your pooch.
Ingredients
3 cups milled whole wheat flour
1 cup oats
2 tblsp. peanut butter
1 cup pumpkin
3 eggs
Mix the dry ingredients together and then the wet ingredients. Combine the two and mix well. It will come out a little sticky so be sure to put some extra milled flour on to a cutting board or wax paper before rolling your dough out.
Roll out your dough until it’s about a 1/2″ thick and then use a cookie cutter to cut the desired shapes out of your dough.
Cook for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Cooking times may vary depending on your oven and how thick/thin your cookie is. When it comes out of the oven and it’s cooled, feed to your pooch! They’ll love them!
