Our favorite Whole Wheat Brownie Recipe
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup whole wheat flour
- 1/3 cup cocoa
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp baking powder
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup oil
- 1 tsp vanilla
- ½ cup coarsely chopped walnuts.
I used whole wheat flour ground with my Wonder Jr deluxe, hand grain mill.
Combine sugar, flour, cocoa, salt, and baking powder. Add eggs oil and vanilla. Mix well.
Fold in your walnuts. We like bigger chunks of walnuts so I use walnut halves and break them up in my hand as I add them. The chopped walnuts from the store will be much smaller. Either works!
You will have a very thick batter. Spread this in a 8×8 or 9×9 inch pan. I have a stoneware pie plate that I like to use.
Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.
Our favorite brownie mix ever!
Homemade brownie mix.
You could also double or triple the dry ingredients and have read to add eggs oil and vanilla when you want to make brownies. Keep it in a dry airtight container. Mason jars work great.
